You are getting sleepy......very very sleepy

So last week I happened upon an Etsy seller quite by accident who sells hypnotherapy CDs. Out of curiosity I poked around their shop for a bit and and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw that they had a hypnotherapy CD for weight loss. Not one to leave a stone unturned, I decided right then and there to give it a whirl. I ordered it I believe it was Friday or Saturday and today it was sitting in my mailbox.

Here's my plan. I will keep track of my progress daily and post weekly summaries right here on my blog. Success or failure - I'll let you guys know.

I listened to the CD today and so far so good. More to come........here

In what ways is it supposed to work? Suppressing appetite? Self-control? Determination?

You've got me interested.

It's supposed to change the way I think about food. Only eat when I'm hungry. Only eat what I need. Stop when I'm full etc etc. Basically it's they way I USED to eat. Food was for business not pleasure if that makes sense. Candy on the other hand was a whole nother story :)

Hmm I'd like to see how this turns out... I met a very nice etsy seller that sold hypno therapy cds so I'm guessing we're most likely talking about the same person...

update us with what happens!

Sharon, I think that is wonderful!!! And yes, you are doing the right thing bu posting your progess. When trying to make changes, it can be difficult, but the change is much easier when you have a support group in place to help you and hold you accountable. That is what I do as a Nutrition and Wellness Coach and so what you have chosen to do will work!! Keeping a daily journal of not just what you eat, but how you are feeling day to day will help you to understand what foods trigger certain emotions. This is great to know when you are self-sabotaging and be able to stop and think about why you are really eating something that is not contributing to your goal of losing weight.

Hi Katherine,

I saw your post and just think of another side of this thing. It is not about self-control and denying yourself for the sake of reaching a goal, but you are becoming aware of your habits that you may not be totally satisfied with and keeping a journal would really keep you in tuned with your habits around food so that you have a better opportunity to modify them. That is why diets do not work. When changing your eating and lifestyle habits, it should not be about restriction and denial. instead it should be an easy process of bringing in more behavior that satisfy you and by doing so, you eventually create a new habit to where you are no longer interested in engaging in your old habits anymore. This approach works not only as far as food is concerned, but in all areas of your life where you are feeling unsatisfied and would like to improve upon. I hope this piece of info helps you.

I'm excited to hear what you have to say about this, because I saw their shop recently as well... but was skeptical.
Good luck hun!

Any further word on your progress? I'd be interested in hearing if it's working - and also, if it's not up to expectations, why you think that might be. (I've considered going this route myself, so your feedback would be helpful :-)
