Who moved my cheese?

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned in the past that I'm a member of an Etsy Street Team called the EGCG (Etsy Green & Clean Guild). We are a group of B & B Etsy shops who specialize in soapmaking, perfume, cosmetics, herbal products and anything else you can think of to tantalize your body and spirit. Our wonderful group has banded together to help educate the public about the merits of well crafted products from indie businesses who care about their customers as well as promote Etsy in general. We also serve as advocates for "Truth in Advertising" and full ingredient disclosure for bath and beauty makers.

So why this post about my cheese being moved?

Well I joined the EGCG back in January of this year and I have to be honest, I didn't participate too much (as with anything else). I tend to prefer staying on the outside looking in than the other way around. That said, our group had a forum that I would visit quite frequently where members would "talk" about all kinds of things from business to personal topics. Over the last few months, I'd done one of my famous disappearing acts but one day decided to log on and check out what everyone was up to. To my dismay I walked into the middle of a dispute between members. Not being one to get involved in disputes especially if I'm unclear as to what's going on, I kindly exited the forum and forgot about it. The next day I got an email from a fellow EGCG member that simply said "Look what happened", with a link to the forum. I clicked and was taken to a forum post by our fearless leader offering not only her resignation but that of all the leaders of the group. Thus my cheese was moved!

That night, still in shock, the rest of us lost sheep pulled together and called a meeting in an Etsy chat room to figure out what to do next. This is what my mother would call "Making Sense out of Nonsense" - we made a whole lot of sense that night.

All I can say is you really don't know what you're capable of until your back is up against the wall!

....Stay tuned as more will be revealed tomorrow!

My goodness, that must have been some fight! Sometimes things happen for a reason though. I bet you'll make a great foster mom for the orphaned street team. You are smart, thoughtful, and you certainly know your stuff when it comes to soap!
the same thing happened with a street team that I joined. I think I'm a lot like you... super busy and glad to pop in once in awhile. Well I popped in on some serious drama one day. For me, making soap & bath goodies is about fun and good spirit.

I'm sure you'll all do a great job with the "restructuring". Emmy's right, something great will come of the split. Good luck ;)
