Happy Valentines Day......now what's for dinner?

I don't know if I mentioned before, but since discovering Etsy I've forgotten how to cook. Husband has been doing all the cooking because I'm just soooo rushed off my feet with my little soap shop - YEAH RIGHT!

Anywho, we came up with a little compromise to give him a break. I would cook dinner twice per week. I had my choice of days and settled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bear in mind I just made this decision on Sunday gone, no thought whatsoever about V-Day being on Thursday. So guess which Dumbo get's stuck with trying to come up with a spectacular dinner tonight? Yep - MOI!!!

While rushed off my feet in Etsy chat room last night complaining about my domestic plight, one of my dearest chat room friends who happens to be a great cook Artistic Detour quickly emailed me (in his words) a simple delicious meal to cook tonight. It looked easy enough so I decided to try it. It's steak with creamy gorgonzola sauce, roasted baby red potatoes and steamed asparagus.

The potatoes are roasting and the steak is simmering in it's creamy cheesy sauce. I'll let you all know how everything turned out tomorrow :)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

Hey Joanna - here's the recipe. I'll email it to you also just in case you don't see this. Enjoy!

get 2-4 6 to 8 oz QUALITY steaks, fry in 2oz olive oil until browmned remove steaks, pour in 1 pint heavy whipping cream heat to almost boil add 1/2 stick of butter and 8 oz crumbled gorganzola whisk, add a splash of Kitchen Bouquet gravy browner to make a nice dark gravy, set to simmer, add steaks back in let simmer and reduce uncovered for 30-45 miknutes. In mean time cube up 3 lbs rinsed red or white potatoes put in a bowl and pour vegetable oil over it about 1/2 cup coat totally, add 1 pkg onion dip and sprinkle garlic powder and paprika, pour into a oven fast pan and bake at 350 until tender about 45 minutes. occasionally stir in gravy serve with steamed broccoli or asparagus. simple and easy!

It really was easy and sooo tasty. Husband LOVED it :)
Sounds yummy...all except for the asparagus, which I just DON'T like. Hope it was a wonderful dinner. What are you fixing tonight?
