Color Me Crazy
...but I've been mulling something over for the past few weeks and although it sounds insane and may even BE insane I feel it's something I need to do.
I'm thinking about closing my Etsy store. Not forever, just temporarily. How temporary? I don't know yet. Depends on how long it takes me to wipe the slate, gather my thoughts and put them in motion.
Why? I've been wanting to streamline my products for a while and currently, between trying to give customers what they want, making what I like & making what I think fits, I feel my shop has lost it's focus. It looks & feels scattered (like my brain).
I'm thinking I'll take a few steps back, take a good look and then roll my sleeves up and dive back in when I know what I'm looking at and have a clear vision of where I'd like to be going.
As I'm writing this blog post I'm realizing that this is something I'm definitely going to do.
I can't help but think I may feel a bit relieved to be freed from my Etsy obligations, after being there for over 2 years, but we'll see!

I'm building my own website now which is forcing me to focus more intensely on my brand and what I'm trying to convey. We're so conditioned on Etsy to list, list, list..the more products you have the better...Trying to keep up and stay relevant there is stressing me out! That's why I'm creating my own site...
Patrice - good luck with your website. It's very satisfying to have your own venue.
But of course, you have to do what you feel is right!
