What possessed me....

...to wake up this morning and make fizzy bath bombs? These things are so "sometime'ish" - meaning sometimes they turn out perfectly and other times they don't, just depending on their mood. I woke up and got it under my skin that I just wanted to make fizzy bombs and so I did. Luckily I ran out of corn starch otherwise I'd still be making them now.

They do look marvelous. I have to make fifty in the next couple of days. Oh, hopefully they won't crack-
They can be fickle can't they?

*These* look lovely! Just lovely!
Those look beautiful! My last batch cracked around the middle sometime during the night. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT???! Am I making them too dry?
Anyone have a clue?

Love your pic. It's really gorgeous!

Sometimes they crack and sometimes they don't. I'm at a loss as to why. I've heard that some people spritz them to keep them from getting too dry? Anyone else read or heard that before?

Joanna - I'm gonna make more tonight because I have 2 vending events in the next few days and I have a feeling they'll go over well. Good luck with your fifty!!!

I wasn't clear my last post - I've heard of people spritzing them with water or witch hazel AFTER they've been made for a while to keep them from drying out too much.

I think it has something to do with the humidity level and the rate in which the bomb ball dries.

Aren't I so scientific?? ;)

well, 30 in... I ran out of citric acid. Went to the natural food store, but they were charging $10 per lb. I get it at Camden Grey Essentials for $2.50 per lb.(that is at 8 lbs.) Does anyone get it any cheaper than that??

I got my last batch from thesage.com which is around $3.00. wholesalesuppliesplus is $2.50 but their grains are larger which I don't like.

Have you check a local wine/beer making store? They sell it but I don't know if it will be any cheaper than the natural food store.

I think I'm good. Coastalscents.com has it pretty reasonably priced as well... 10 lbs for under $20.00. I bought some yesterday....

I bought my citric acid at Brambleberry, but I know that Washington is close to Oregon but not close to the East Coast at all:-)
